Tuscany Photo Trips

Webster University Geneva

Friday March 18th

Friday was paradoxically both a hectic and relaxing day. We had a lot of work but also a lot of fun and stayed at the Agriturismo the whole time. Both Photo4000 students and EPMD1000 students had a lot of work, especially those who took both.

I happened to have woken up extraordinarily late, which did not help my productivity. I rushed and went to work without eating breakfast. I had a lot of 8×10 film photos to take.

As I and the other photography students were shooting film, the media production students were working hard on their podcasts, videos, and photo projects which they had to present to Francesco by the evening.

As we put blood, sweat and tears into our craft, fortunately we were treated with one of best treats known to mankind, pizza, but not just any pizza. We all made our own homemade pizzas baked in a traditional wood fire oven. It was beyond delicious. Matter of fact most students agree to this being the highlight of the trip.

After such a meal we were all ready to tackle the final boss of this trip, the final assignments for the trip. We photography students had to finish taking photos and then process the film by the end of the day. Me and Kal in fact could only attend the beginning of the media productions student’s presentations as we were in the darkroom Thursday we also processed film but the big difference is we were guided by Francesco, this time we had to do it ourselves. In the darkness we had a couple of flops here and there but eventually made it and managed to process all our film. My hand turned green from the chemicals used to develop film, and we ate at 10pm but the grind was worth it as we had some nice film negatives.

At night we packed our luggage and had our last couple of hours of fun at the Agriturismo. We played card games, talked, relaxed and said are final goodnights to our friends the ladybugs.

Truth be told we all secretly sneaked an extra slice of pizza in our luggage as a souvenir.
